Trail Conditions

2026 Season

PLEASE RESPECT ALL TRAILS AND DO NOT RIDE UNTIL THEY DRY AFTER A RAIN!

Date updated 9/28

Palisade Rim Trail – OPEN

Palisade Plunge Trail – OPEN until November 30

We are recommending that people start their ride from the Shirttail point parking lot (riding the last 21 miles of the trail.)

The Grand Valley has seen persistent precipitation in the last month and this trail is heavily affected by moisture.

Mesa Top Section – Wet and muddy.

Shirttail Point to Lands End Crossing Section – Expect mud and a variety of conditions. Riders report a few downed trees and overgrowth in sections.

Lands End Crossing to the Bail Out at mile marker 22.2 Section – Expect raw riding conditions with mud and washouts.

Bail Out at mile marker 22.2 to Trail End – Significant sloughing with hike-a-bike sections likely. Ride with Caution!

The Palisade Plunge has a shaded structure at the emergency bail out.

We are currently working to get more trail crews onto the Palisade Plunge.

The Emergency bailout is well marked if you’re running low on water, have a mechanical issue or are getting tired.  Please use caution and carry enough water. The Palisade Plunge is not an easy trail – it is a great single track adventure for advanced riders.

Deep Creek trail to the Plunge to Powderhorn – OPEN

County Line and Skyway trails – OPEN

West Bench Trail – OPEN. Beware of Lift construction at the top of the West End Lift.  The trail ends at this point, please do not trespass past the lift.
